This course is specifically designed for physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, dietitians, pharmacists, psychologists, certified diabetes educators, and other health care professionals who care for patients with diabetes or who manage the complications related to this disease.
At the end of this activity, the attendees should be able to:
- List differences in the physiology of exercise for all individuals.
- Identify the nuances of different types of physical activity (aerobic, resistance, combined, etc.) on fitness and exercise outcomes.
- Prescribe effective exercise using the current recommendations for various populations, such as youth, adults, and older adults.
- Assess the management of health complications during all exercise and physical activity.
