This course is specifically designed for the interprofessional health care providers on the diabetes care management team. This includes physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, dietitians, pharmacists, psychologists, social workers, certified diabetes educators, and other health care professionals.
At the end of this activity, the attendees should be able to:
- Apply concepts of the decision cycle for patient-centered glycemic management in type 2 diabetes
- List patient- and medication-specific factors to consider when selecting glucose lowering agents
- Indicate recommendations within the 2019 ADA Standards of Care based on the 2018 ADA/EASD Consensus Report on management of hyperglycemia in type 2 diabetes
