Target Audience
This course is specifically designed for the interprofessional health care providers on the diabetes care management team. This includes physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, dietitians, pharmacists, psychologists, social workers, certified diabetes educators, and other health care professionals.

Learning Objective
At the end of this activity, the attendees should be able to:

- Discuss the use of glucose-lowering medications for cardiovascular and renal risk reduction
- Indicate key patient education and counseling considerations when initiating GLP-1 RAs and SGLT2 inhibitors in patients with type 2 diabetes
- Recognize agent-specific considerations among currently available SGLT-2 inhibitors and GLP-1 RAs
- Discuss select glucose-lowering medications in late stage clinical development
