This course is specifically designed for the interprofessional health care providers on the diabetes care management team. This includes physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, dietitians, pharmacists, psychologists, social workers, certified diabetes educators, and other health care professionals.
At the end of this activity, the attendees should be able to:
- Describe the 2020 ADA Standards of Care for the older adult with diabetes
- Discuss the aspects of heterogeneity of older adults and its impact on establishing treatment goals and developing treatment regimens
- Compare and contrast diabetes treatments and their appropriate use in older adults with comorbid diseases
