This course is specifically designed for the interprofessional health care providers on the diabetes care management team. This includes physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, dietitians, pharmacists, psychologists, social workers, certified diabetes educators, and other health care professionals.
At the end of this activity, the attendees should be able to:
- Discuss the influence of select antihyperglycemic agents on cardiometabolic outcomes in persons with type 2 diabetes
- List similarities and differences in design of recent cardiovascular outcome trials that evaluate select antihyperglycemic agents used in type 2 diabetes management
- Interpret clinical evidence of these trials on cardiac and renal outcomes
