The American Diabetes Association's (ADA's) "Standards of Medical Care in Diabetes" is intended to provide clinicians, patients, researchers, payers, and other interested individuals with the components of diabetes care, general treatment goals, and tools to evaluate the quality of care. The Standards of Care recommendations are not intended to preclude clinical judgment and must be applied in the context of excellent clinical care, with adjustments for individual preferences, comorbidities, and other patient factors.
The ADA has been actively involved in the development and dissemination of diabetes care standards, guidelines, and related documents for over 25 years. ADA’s clinical practice recommendations are viewed as important resources for health care professionals who care for people with diabetes.
This webcast is the official presentation of the Highlights of the 2021 Standards of Care and is presented by Robert A. Gabbay, MD, PhD.
